The Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) joined several organizations at a Recycling Caucus reception on Capitol Hill to acknowledge America Recycles Day and honor Chairman Tom Carper (D-Del) for his long-time commitment to advancing recycling policies and working across the aisle.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank Senator Carper for being a founding member of the Recycling Caucus and for his longtime support for the recycled materials industry,\u201d said ReMA President Robin Wiener. \u201cThe industry is grateful for the Senator\u2019s strong commitment to advancing recycling over the years with bi-partisan approaches toward addressing and advancing critical recycling issues. Even as he approaches his retirement, Senator Carper remains a leading advocate for building a resilient and sustainable recycled materials supply chain.\u201d<\/p>\n
Notable highlights of the Senator\u2019s work on recycling issues include the introduction and Senate passage of the Recycling and Composting Accountability Act <\/em>and the Recycling Infrastructure and Accessibility Act<\/em>, which have been critical for the future of recycling.
