听Meredith Stehr has been described as the backbone of Waste Pro鈥檚 Spanish Fort/Mobile, Alabama Division. Her Waste Pro story began in 2011 when the company acquired Emerald Waste. Throughout her career, she鈥檚 navigated office location changes, management changes, operational upgrades, and new systems. With six years of experience at Emerald Waste, Meredith assisted in making the transition for locals to Waste Pro seamless.听
With previous experience in landfill management and customer service, Meredith鈥檚 overall solid waste and recycling career spans nearly 25 years. As the longest-tenured employee in this division, Meredith is the go-to person for questions, concerns, and problem-solving. Her commitment to her role as a dispatcher is unwavering, and she often takes on additional responsibilities in the office.听
Division Manager Jordan Scott shares, 鈥淭here isn鈥檛 a route, customer or account that she can鈥檛 tell you the history of why, when, where and how they are serviced.鈥� This information has been priceless and has kept the office running over the years. Meredith is known to handle everything from operational support to customer service to billing and sales. She is also called upon to rally the troops and motivate, mentor, and guide new drivers and helpers.听
Meredith has grown fond of the people she works alongside and is proud to consider them family. 鈥淚 love these people; it鈥檚 a family, and being a bit older than most drivers and helpers, they look to me for guidance and direction. I am glad I can share my passion for customer service with them. If they have a question or concern, I always do my best to find the answers.鈥�听
In a division with a smaller staff, Meredith has taken on many additional responsibilities. She shares, 鈥淭here are many moving parts, and I want to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Helping people keeps me going day in and day out.鈥� With recent growth and expansion throughout the Southern Alabama region, Meredith explained how this has impacted her and the effect it has overall: 鈥淲hether (they) are building a house, cleaning out a historic building for renovations and restoration, or creating new neighborhoods, we can be a part of something that is life-changing for the community.鈥�听
Family is at the heart of who Meredith is; she has been married for 37 years and has two children and three grandchildren. She beams with pride as she shares their accomplishments; her daughter is a judicial assistant in nearby Baldwin County, and her son is a regional sales manager for a cosmetic company. Both are successful, and she feels their success stems from her showing them that you can juggle being a wife, mother, and career woman without compromising anything. She is grateful that being a role model has enabled them to find their own successes in life.听
So, what is next for Meredith? She says she is not going anywhere anytime soon and is optimistic about the future. She hopes to continue to build the Spanish Fort location into an example of living and working the Waste Pro Way.听
