The Circular Economy Development Center (CEDC) announces the appointment of two new staff members. Clio Goldsmith is the center鈥檚 deputy director and Susan Renaud is director of special projects. 聽鈥淏oth positions will contribute to the continued success in designing and executing circular economies for Colorado and the region,鈥 said CEDC Director Laurie Johnson. 鈥淚鈥檓 excited to broaden the breadth and depth of the CEDC’s skills.鈥
As CEDC deputy director, Goldsmith will work to bring circular projects to fruition. Previously, Goldsmith worked in product development for cut-and-sew goods, focusing on new material development, supply chain logistics, prototyping, and project management. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan. 鈥淚 am a material nerd at heart,鈥 said Goldsmith. 鈥淚 love digging into the details of material manufacturing processes, especially those of a circular nature.鈥
Renaud has more than 20 years of experience in zero waste, circular economy, business sustainability, and project management. She worked for the City of Denver, City of Boulder and Boulder County in resource conservation roles and holds bachelor鈥檚 degrees in architecture and Spanish, a master鈥檚 in urban and regional planning, and a certificate in business. As CEDC director of special projects, Renaud will manage implementation of CEDC projects focused on waste tires, plastics and more.
鈥淐olorado has taken innovative steps to develop programs, infrastructure, and funding opportunities to reduce waste and foster a circular economy,鈥 said Renaud. 鈥淚 look forward to connecting recyclable materials with local markets and collaborating with partners to test and implement proof-of-concept circular solutions. It鈥檚 an honor to have the opportunity to participate in this impactful solutions-oriented work.鈥
