The Sacramento Kings and Recology announced a multi-year partnership, naming the brand the official sustainability and zero waste partner of the team. Recology will handle all waste, recycling, and composting services for Golden 1 Center and Downtown Commons (DOCO), starting this year and continuing through the 2027-28 NBA season.

With sustainability at the forefront, Recology will enhance the Kings composting program at Golden 1 Center and strengthen the arena鈥檚 efficiency for recycling and waste management services. Recology will also be the presenting partner of the team鈥檚 Zero Waste Night during the 2024-25 NBA Season to promote聽sustainability.
Awarded Environmental Innovator of the Year by Green Sports Alliance and Sustainable Business of the Year for Energy Conservation by BERC, the Sacramento Kings聽commitment to sustainability聽resulted in Golden 1 Center being the first arena awarded LEED platinum designation with聽the most innovative food program in sports sourcing 90% of food within 150 miles. The team is dedicated to sustainable practices including opening a聽Tesla Supercharger Station聽for Golden 1 Center and DOCO patrons,聽 launching the Second That program aimed at eliminating food waste by donating unused/unprepared food to families in need, and the聽Solar Days initiative聽to reduce power usage on 鈥渄ark days鈥 at the arena implemented in the summer of 2018.
