Waste Expo officially opened once more on Monday June 28 with conferences that offered a variety of great focuses for attendees, including sessions on using technology and data to increase operational efficiency, anaerobic digestion technologies, thoughts from rising leaders in the industry, implementing a national vision for recycling and more. The exhibition center in Las Vegas was crowded as people interacted enthusiastically at this in-person event making up for the time that was missed last year. Everyone looked forward to the next few days ahead and enjoyed being able to attend a session that was not hosted by zoom.

On June 29, I had the pleasure of riding in an Electric Refuse Vehicle at Mack Truck’s Ride and Drive event that took place right outside the hall. Showing off the features, maneuverability, ease of operation and more, Scott Barraclough, Product Manager, E-Mobility, not only took the time to explain the technology, its benefits and how it will make an operator’s job more efficient, but he also drove me around the designated course to demonstrate how the truck moved with ease and the quiet with which it ran. It was a great experience and insight into the electric vehicle that Mack offers.

During that day, the exhibit hall was also busy with聽attendees were eager to get on the show floor and see what new technologies companies had to offer as well as cultivate their existing relationships with those companies that were on display throughout the venue. The event was crowded as people made their way around the show flow and many stopped to inquire about a product, services, and more. There was a general consensus of relief being back at the Waste Expo after a year of unusual circumstances.

Wednesday, June 30, will be another full day of exhibits and conferences and we look forward to being a part of this event!
