Edward C. Levy Co., a global innovator in recycling and sustainable materials management, recycled over 8 million tons in 2024 — equivalent to the weight of nearly 800 Eiffel Towers. With these record-breaking recycling achievements, the company continues to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, strengthening communities, and advancing environmental sustainability worldwide.

In 2024, Levy recycled more than one million tons of Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP), enough to rebuild countless roads and highways, improving infrastructure and ensuring safer, smoother commutes for families and businesses. RAP was involved in paving projects on I-75 and M-53 in Michigan, at Flint Bishop International Airport in Saginaw, along with Fort Carson Military Base and I-25 in Colorado. Their 1+ million tons of RAP is equivalent to nearly 48,000 truckloads which would stretch bumper to bumper 727 miles — the distance from Detroit, Michigan to Atlanta, Georgia.

“Michigan’s infrastructure projects demand the best materials to stand the test of time, and Levy’s recycled asphalt is an exceptional choice,” said Gary Lowell, Vice President Ace-Saginaw Paving Company. “Using their high-quality, durable recycled materials on the M-53 reconstruction project allowed us to deliver roadways that meet the highest standards of performance while significantly reducing environmental impact. It’s a win-win for the state and the communities who rely on these roads every day.”

“These recycling numbers represent real positive impacts on people and communities,” said Tom Green, Director of Environmental Health and Safety at Levy. “From the roads we drive on to the bridges and buildings that connect and support us, our recycling efforts directly improve quality of life for families, create jobs, and reduce environmental impacts. It is this commitment to people and the planet that drives everything we do.”

Levy’s recycling initiatives contribute to more sustainable construction, reducing reliance on virgin materials, cutting emissions, and preserving natural resources for future generations. For communities, this means cleaner environments, stronger infrastructure and opportunities for growth and economic development.

In addition to the environmental benefits, Levy’s innovative processes help communities save costs by transforming industrial co-products into valuable resources for roads, homes, and public spaces. By creating new possibilities, Levy ensures both local and global communities thrive in a more sustainable future.
