ecomaine announces the winners and nominees of the 2025 eco-Excellence Awards, recognizing individuals, businesses, and organizations across Maine for their outstanding environmental efforts and commitment to sustainability. Each year, the eco-Excellence Awards shine a spotlight on those who lead by example in promoting waste reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, and sustainability education. The 2025 nominees and winners showcase the innovative, collaborative, and grassroots work happening all over the state to create a cleaner, greener Maine.
This year鈥檚 eco-Excellence Award Winners are:

- Ripe for Repair Team 鈥 For their creative, community-driven approach to textile reuse, repair, and education.
- The Downs 鈥 For setting a new standard in smart, sustainable community development in Scarborough.
- South Portland Waste Reduction Committee 鈥 For their dedication to reducing single-use waste and expanding composting access.
- Casco Bay Lines 鈥 For implementing forward-thinking strategies in transportation sustainability and emissions reduction.
- Wicked Clean Bins 鈥 For delivering an innovative, practical service that supports cleaner neighborhoods and a healthier environment through eco-friendly bin cleaning and responsible water use.

ecomaine received 30 other nominations ranging from educators and artists to municipalities, businesses, and volunteers who were also recognized for their sustainable contributions. Their actions prove that environmental leadership can come from anywhere and have lasting local and global impacts.Award recipients will be recognized at ecomaine鈥檚 Annual Meeting in June 2025, where their achievements will be celebrated among community leaders, advocates, and sustainability professionals.
