Waste Pro’s newest Major Accounts Manager in Louisiana, Chad Jones, is a shining example of Waste Pro attracting the best and brightest. His fresh perspective on managing major sales accounts in Louisiana, his impressive resume including his background in sports, and his ability to handle high-pressure situations make him a valuable addition to the sales team.
Attending two different high schools in Louisiana due to Hurricane Katrina, Chad was considered one of the best football safeties in the nation and an excellent pitcher in baseball. In 2007, while still in high school, he was selected by the Houston Astros in the Major League Baseball draft’s 13thround but instead decided to attend Louisiana State University (LSU), hoping to continue playing both sports. Later that fall at LSU as a true freshman, he played in all 14 of the Tigers’ games as a cornerback and was a member of their National Championship team that year.
While still toggling between each sport throughout college, he was a member of the LSU Tigers 2009 National College Baseball Championship team. He pitched three innings during the series and did not allow a single hit or run, a testament to his skill and determination. At the end of his junior year, the New York Giants selected him in the third round (76th overall) of the 2010 NFL draft. That year, tragedy struck as he was involved in a car accident where he sustained extensive injuries.
In 2018, Chad left the sports world and transitioned into a new phase of his life. He focused on coming home and back to Louisiana, helping his family establish a company focused on tourism. Chad’s return to his hometown of New Orleans is not just a personal journey but a professional one. Looking for the next challenge in his career and a company with strong community ties, he found Waste Pro. For Chad, Waste Pro checked all the boxes he was looking for, offering not just a job but a lifelong career opportunity. After meeting with Regional Vice President Jesse Murphy and others, Chad signed on as Major Accounts Manager for Waste Pro’s Louisiana Region.
“Chad and Waste Pro are a winning combo! I am excited for the future Chad has with Waste Pro in Louisiana. His passion for people and service will continue to foster growth in the local market and beyond,” Regional Vice President Jesse Murphy shared.
